Graduates in business administration or economics from other universities may apply for doctoral studies at Educatis University provided that they fulfil the admission criteria:


1. Graduate Degree
Graduated with a Masters degree (MSc/MA) from a state recognized university with at least 90 ECTS credits by coursework (and a Bachelor with at least 180 ECTS credits) or its equivalent (Licentiate, Diploma, Magistra) in any field of business administration, economics and industrial engineering (incl. IT) with an equivalent grade to summa cum laude or magna cum laude (average grade of at least 2.0 respectively 5.0), first class honours degree or upper second class honours degree 2:1 (with at least 80% and above), or “A” average.

Master degress from US universities are only accepted if the University is AACSB accredited.

The documents presented must be legalized by a notary public. For overseas applicants the documents must be legalized by the Swiss Embassy or Consulate.

Graduates from a non European Community/EFTA country are assessed individually.

An MBA or an Executive MBA degree does not qualify for the doctoral program.


2. Confirmation
All applicants must possess an official confirmation that he/she could start doctoral studies at the university in his/her country of residence.


3.  Official Grading Scale
Applicants will have to enclose an official definition of the grading scale used for the award of their degree (e.g. examination regulations, transcript of the university, or a similar document).


4. Other graduates
Outstanding applications submitted by graduates other than stipulated in article 1 with an excellent grade in their Master's degree may be reviewed individually by the Scientific Board.


5. Foreign Language Skills
Foreign language skills in at least one foreign language form a basic requirement for taking up the doctoral program. Applicants must prove their proficiency in one foreign language adequately. For non-native speakers of English, this is one of the following tests:
     
TOEFLTest of English as a Foreign Language – with a score of at least 80 in the Internet Based Test (IBT), 215 in the computer based version (CBT) or 550 in the paper version (PBT) respectively
IELTS overall score in Band 6.5.  For native speakers of English, this will be an equivalent proof of proficiency in a foreign language other than English).
CPE (Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English: grade C.
CAE (Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English: grade B.

Tests shall not be older than 2 years.


6. Further Documents
Applicants must also submit:
  1. curriculum vitae focussing on professional career details including information on the reasons for applying for admission to the programme, personal motivation for applying for the program and personal background. 
  2. two letters of recommendation from employers, professors or other significant persons. 
  3. Normally proof of at least three years full-time post-graduation work experience, one of which should preferably be in a managerial position for the DBA program.
  4. An outline description of the topic the applicant intends to work on at DBA level. This description should be no more than two pages in length, and should show the scope of the proposed topic, indicate what primary and secondary materials s/he will use, and describe the ways in which applicants consider the proposed topic to be interdisciplinary, either by working across more than one traditional subject area, and/or by using more than one methodology. This research proposal helps us identify a potential supervisor.


7. Interview
Educatis or its academic partners will reserve their right to interview the applicants.


8. legal
Applications are reviewed immediately on receipt. Each application will be reviewed on an individual basis. If all formal conditions are met, the Doctoral Administration Office will send a written confirmation.
Educatis may refuse an applicant at their discretion. Legal enforcement to admission is expressly excluded.
